 Investigadores pedem medidas urgentes depois de constatarem o que o ChatGPT faz ao ensino da História

Um Consórcio internacional analisou como o ChatGPT apresenta as guerras coloniais que envolveram Portugal, a Guerra do Vietname, as guerras da Jugoslávia ou a guerra Israel-Palestina. 

Batalhas inventadas, citação de documentários que nunca foram feitos, datas trocadas e outras obliteradas, narrativas falsas, ou contraditórias, sendo que as contradições variam conforme a língua usada. 

Os Investigadores lembram que “os sistemas de IA funcionam dinamicamente, estabelecendo padrões de autoridade falsos que se tornam cada vez mais difíceis de abordar uma vez enraizados em contextos educacionais e culturais”. Pelo que “a eficácia das intervenções diminui à medida que estes padrões se normalizam entre os utilizadores e podem mesmo, em última análise, vir a ser integrados em materiais educativos legítimos”.

An international consortium has analyzed how ChatGPT presents the colonial wars involving Portugal, the Vietnam War, the wars in Yugoslavia, and the Israel–Palestine conflict. 

Invented battles, references to documentaries that were never made, swapped or omitted dates, false or contradictory narratives — with the contradictions varying according to the language used. 

The researchers warn that “AI systems operate dynamically, establishing false patterns of authority that become increasingly difficult to address once they take root in educational and cultural contexts.” Therefore, “the effectiveness of interventions diminishes as these patterns become normalized among users and may ultimately be integrated into legitimate educational materials.”
